Camera Tripod

I just recently purchased a Promaster 7400 Tripod. I didn't want to break the bank on a tripod, I also didn't want my camera flopping over and smashing on the ground. The 7400 tripod from promaster has a sturdy feel to it yet not to heavy. I can take this tripod for a walk and not feel like I,m lugging around a hefty elephant of a tripod. The legs are 27 mm and the height maxes out at 70". The feet on the legs have spikes on them and can be exposed by twisting clockwise and can be retracted twisting counter-clockwise. There is a 3-way metal pan head with a quick release platform. Its very smooth and easy to operate. There are also a couple levels, one mounted to the tripod and one on the head to make sure your shots are positioned correctly. Overall this is a great quality starter tripod! hit me up with any questions you may have.

Here are some specs:
Maximum working Height: 70"
Minimum Working Height: 26 1/2"
Maximum Load: 11 lbs. / 5kg
Folded Height: 27 7/8"
Leg Diameter: 27mm
Weight: 3lbs. 15 oz.

Retail is $130.00

Promasters HGX CPL Filter

I just recently purchased a Promaster HGX circular polarized filter. The reason for my purchase.....I wanted to get that awesome blue sky I see in every professionals landscape photo!!! The circular polarized filter only allows certain light rays through and cuts down on reflection of light rays on surfaces such as water and glass. This filter makes blue skies look bluer and provides better contrast for colors in general. Here is an example of a photo that I took using the CPL Filter. This is a picture of Kim at Kezar Lake Maine.

Canon 50D

I just recently bought a Canon 50D. This is a great quality camera. It is on the higher end of the DSLR cameras that Canon produces and I am really happy with it. Some high level specifications include a 15.1 megapixel cmos sensor, digic 4 image processor and a 3 inch lcd screen that has 920,000 pixels.

The 15.1 megapixel cmos sensor allows the camera to take photos with a resolution of up to 4752 x 3168 pixels. You can blow up some amazing photos without losing any quality. My favorite part of this camera is how fast images are captured. I can snap tons of photos in a row without any slowdown. Its a good idea to get a high speed UDMA compact flash card. You will be able to capture more consectuive photos. The digic proccessor is extremely fast on this model and you can caputre upto 6.3 frames per second! The lcd screen on the 50D is extremely sharp. I find this really helpfull when im reviewing pictures and adusting the camera settings to get the best quality shot.
